Christina Hendricks Biography

Christina Hendricks was born in Knoxville, Tennessee (United States) on May 3rd, 1975. In the third grade her family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho and it’s here she started her acting with the Junior Musical Playhouse company. In 1989 (aged 14) her family moved to Fairfax, Virigina where she started to participate in several high school plays.

Christina Hendricks is best known for her role on the hit AMC show mad men, playing the role of the bosomy Joan Holloway. She first became known to many for her role as Saffron from the much loved but shortly lived Fox television program Firefly. In recent years she has shot to stardom in many eyes due to her fuller figure which promotes healthier body images for today’s youth and her radiant red hair. Unfortunately for natural  ginger lovers she was born with blonde hair but began dying it at the early age of ten.

Christina’s first big break when she became a regular on the TV series Beggars and Choosers, up until that point she had been stuck doing small bit parts in TV. Since then she has had recurring roles in ER & Firefly. She also has a small recurring role in Life as Olivia – detective Charlie Crews’ soon-to-be step mother and Ted Earley’s love interest.

It wasn’t until AMC cast her as Joan Holloway in Mad Men that Christina Hendricks became a household name.

On October 11, 2009, Christina Hendricks broke hearts across the globe when she married fellow actor Geoffrey Arend.
